Saturday Debut - "One Hundred Eyes In One Day"

Debut artist Giulia Quaresima will be transforming the Debut Contemporary Gallery window display in a photographic studio on the 16th February by performing her project “One hundred eyes in one day”.

The artist has been always fascinated by the human figure, and in particular by the powerful expressiveness of hands and eyes. Taking as a source of inspiration the figure of Argus, the mythological one hundred eyes monster, with this event the artist wants to analyse the physiognomic differences of common people’s eyes taking photographs of those who will agree to come into the gallery and become the artist’s muse just for one day.

It will be a very interactive and free event, in which the audience will become character of the performance and of Quaresima’s new painting, based on the Greek myth.
Just for this occasion, for those who wish with an affordable contribution of £10.00, there will be the chance to receive by post within two month from the Saturday Debut (on a cardboard cm 15x10) the original painting or drawing of their eyes, signed by the artist, with the Debut Contemporary mark and the Certificate of Authenticity attached.

Alongside the performance, the artist will be showing some works from her mythological collection and her new brand of coasters, in which eyes are the main subject.

One of Quaresima’s goals, in the Guinness Book of Records style, is to be able to take photographs of one hundred eyes of different people in a single day. So don’t miss it: come to the gallery and be part of it!
